History Museum
A beautiful port town in southeastern France, La Citadelle - Museum of maritime history is a former military base, where the main source of income was fishing. This fishing village was liberated from the Second World War early in the twentieth century, following which it became an international resort by the sea. Artists from the French New Wave started rushing into this magnificent town as a result of its rich history and spectacular view. It later became a resort for the European and American jet set and a goal for tourists in search of a little Provençal authenticity and an occasional celebrity sighting. Put La Citadelle - Museum of maritime history on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Saint-Tropez trip itinerary planner.

  • Nice to visit. Bay view from citadel
  • Formidable, full recommend! You can stay for hours , great view .
  • Superb museum. Beautifully designed exhibitions with a variety of content and fresh graphic styles in each room. One of the highlights is a circular room exhibiting model fish, lit up with blue / purple light. Really well designed museum within the existing structure, and unmatched panoramic views from the roof terrace.
  • I would say this is one of the only reasons to visit Saint Tropez. The views from the Citadelle were beautiful. It was 3 euros per person.
  • You can find a big canon there
