Escal'Atlantic, Saint-Nazaire

3.8
Hop aboard the Escal'Atlantic and take an interactive ride on the high seas. This mock ocean liner, newly renovated in 2013, is an immersion museum where you guide yourself through every nook and cranny of a luxury boat, even the bridge. Almost every display has an interactive game installed that challenges you to become a ship’s captain, or a shipping company owner. You'll be responsible for guiding your vessel to success.

The history and economy of the entire world was once reliant on steam driven ocean liners. This museum retells that history, emphasizing the ocean liner’s vital role in the bigger picture of humanity’s development. A visit to Escal'Atlantic represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Saint-Nazaire trip planner to plot your vacation.

  • An immersion in the liners that have been the pride of france. Sets respected plunging us into the heart of these boats. A good unusual moment, a trip. See also nearby, swordfish, a french submarine retired. This visit brings a deep respect to our sailors who must live in terrible conditions. The Ecomuseum to learn a little more about the port of st nazaire. Take advantage of the pass 3 visits for a fee of €20.

  • It is actually on Board of these great liners in the gangways, see dishes in each of the classes, and at the end of the bar of the "France" where you can enjoy a cocktail or simply a "hot chocolate" served generously, with class and the smile

  • Very nice tour through time for the discovery of these early giants of the seas, which allowed the migration of thousands of people.

  • Great expo. Give a detailed impression of traveling on the big oceanliners since the beginning around 1840 till the disapeatance around 1960 due to concurrence with flying. Great scenes and soundeffects. After the cafetaria (on deck) is a short but strong movie and a original surprise in the end. :). Located in the concrete bunkers where the U-boats where stationed durin ww2. Probably best expo in St Nazaire.
  • On a cloudy day, we decided to visit Escal'Atlantic and were pleasantly surprised it was a very good exhibit that pleased and entertained the entire family.
  • Super
  • One of the sights not to be missed during a visit in Saint-Nazaire for the nostalgic Atlantic crossings aboard the giants of the seas. Pleasant home. Immersion guaranteed, documented, and very attractive for the whole family... We are very quickly plunges in the atmosphere of the steamers of the beginning and the middle of the last century. Not too many people during our visit (3rd week of August). Rate however pricey which may put off a large family...

  • Excellent simulation of liner. You can feel the passion of the people who designed this project through the quality of these replenishment. There is a little the wheelhouse which was the only cheap and few interesting visit. A big thank you to the people who organize and monitor the visit for their kindness and professionalism to the people with reduced mobility who accompanied me.
