Escal'Atlantic, Saint-Nazaire

(3.7/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
Hop aboard the Escal'Atlantic and take an interactive ride on the high seas. This mock ocean liner, newly renovated in 2013, is an immersion museum where you guide yourself through every nook and cranny of a luxury boat, even the bridge. Almost every display has an interactive game installed that challenges you to become a ship’s captain, or a shipping company owner. You'll be responsible for guiding your vessel to success.

The history and economy of the entire world was once reliant on steam driven ocean liners. This museum retells that history, emphasizing the ocean liner’s vital role in the bigger picture of humanity’s development. • If there is a visit to St. nazaire, c is this! We think we are on a cruise ship with its promenade bar etc engine room deck cabins

  • Informative tour, we are immersed in this epoch of the middle of the last century, and better understand the history of these giants of the seas. Immersive and interesting sets on and a surprising exit. On the other hand I think that visit deserves more reconstructions, especially as the subject and the proximity of sites lend themselves well. It is a little too easy to put a screen and project a movie explanatory way utube. Example: no replenishment of the command post, only 3 screens, an engine room too summarily reproduced and we see too far... In short a Museum 2.0! Damage or both better depending on what is expected.

  • We did the tour of the escal atlantic for 22nd per person seems to me. Price we found high for the services. Certainly it takes back us to the universe but to our taste not quite since everything is (too) renovated.

  • Great expo. Give a detailed impression of traveling on the big oceanliners since the beginning around 1840 till the disapeatance around 1960 due to concurrence with flying. Great scenes and soundeffects. After the cafetaria (on deck) is a short but strong movie and a original surprise in the end. :). Located in the concrete bunkers where the U-boats where stationed durin ww2. Probably best expo in St Nazaire.
  • On a cloudy day, we decided to visit Escal'Atlantic and were pleasantly surprised it was a very good exhibit that pleased and entertained the entire family.
  • extremely disappointed. I went there when j was a child and it was perfect but the changes makes it much worse. If c is a first come. If not go your way

  • Visit transports you into the world of cruise ships and the decorations are very well restored. We enjoyed the promenade deck and our 4 year old son asks to return. The price is quite high.
