3.9/5 based on 95+ reviews on the web
Explore Utah Beach's largest artillery site at Crisbecq Battery, one of Nazi Germany's key defenses against the Allied invasion. Check out the artillery site's sturdy concrete bunkers and gun emplacements that housed the Czech-made Skoda artillery pieces, which fired back at Allied ships approaching from the sea. Traverse the battery's extensive network of 21 blockhouses, its underground rooms, and pillboxes to get a feel for what life as a German gunner was like in the time leading up to the Allied invasion. Don't miss the several rooms outfitted with dioramas and original equipment presented in their wartime state. • A German battery very well preserved and a landmark when visiting the region. The plan with the explanation for each of the casemates is excelling and detail. The best are the scenes restored with objects and clothing from eras as the infirmary, the supply of ammunition etc... Its 210 mm gun is very impressive and also the other guns; The home is very warm. Prices are very good too; The battery of Crisbecq books are great! I advise you to visit

  • Other batteries of the landing located in Saint-Marcouf, near Sainte-Mere-Eglise. One of the best preserved not because of its location but for bunkers, very well preserved and good dioramas representing the life of the German soldiers in these batteries. A must if you move through the area. €7 or € 6 If you have the PASS BAIE DU COTENTIN. (JULY 2016)

  • Great place lots of bunkers to visit, famous reconstruction in some of them. This more or less 1 HR 1Hr30 a US plus. We were five people and all we would like to highlighted and welcomed the work undertaken for the discovery and maintenance of these sites. This work is done by volunteers.
