Historic Site Tourist Spot
Over 300 figures of Les Rochers Sculptes were made by the late Abbot Fouré who was deaf and mute. Carved from marble with only a chisel and a hammer, his bas-relief faces feature legends from the sea, the pirates, and the current events of his time. Figures carved into seaside stone are considered art brut in the environmental visionary type of presentation. • We were in St Malo and took the bus (Number 8 from tourism office and only 1.30 Euro each) to the sculptures. When you get off the bus you follow the signs. It was 2.50 E to get in each and we spent a...  more »
  • We walked from the walled St Malo along the beach and coastal path to get to this little gem of a place. It was an absolutely beautiful day and the views were stunning. We nearly missed it as it is on...  more »
  • The scratches of the time are very well visible. Sea erosion did an efficient job here. I have been there 30y ago and it had a very different view. But the spirit is still there. The naive stoned face...  more »

  • This is incredible and astonishing. A blind man in the 19th century spent years chiselling all kinds of figures into the rock face on the coast. And many of them are still visible today.
  • Great place to visit, if you have some spare time on your way to Cancale.
  • Nice place for a quick stroll. Don't expect to stay there long. Must be comfortable because we walk on rocks half the time. You must also have a good view because the carved rocks are everywhere! 2.5 euros admission. It took well to hold our daughter of 2 years by the hand because there is no barrier or protection. But it is as well. It allows to keep nature in its most beautiful element.

  • Curiosity to visit. He must shine. The sculptures are amazing. The Ballad is not very safe for children. The lady was very friendly and perfectly explains the origin of the place.

  • So I'm sorry to have to pay somewhere in the free air. 2.50 and anything ... but then I thought it was very cute and interesting
