Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, Saint-Cloud

(100+ reviews on the web)
Garden Historic Site
Domaine National de Saint-Cloud offers 460 hectares of gardens, park, and woodland, and it represents one of the best examples of a classical garden. This venue was once a privilege of Philippe d’Orléans, the younger brother of Louis XIV, but no longer boasts a château, which was destroyed in a fire in 1870. However, you can still stroll about the grounds that burst at the seams with inspiring natural fixtures.

Designed by Le Nôtre, Domaine National de Saint-Cloud is also one of the most attractive parks to be found in the outer Paris area and has been dubbed with the "Outstanding Garden" label. Although an oasis of calm amidst the busy city, the park also holds a number of cafés and restaurants where you can grab a bite to eat and rest your feet. • Beautiful park worth walking and having a picnic in, but they do let cars drive here which ruins the atmosphere somewhat.
  • Nice park for a walk! There are a lot of green space and it's the place where the Rock en Seine festival is held each year!
  • The park showcases a panoramic view of Paris called "La Lanterne" or the "Lantern of Demosthenes".
  • Great park at the boarder of Paris and longing the Seine. It's vast and lots of things to see and explore.
  • One of the best kept secrets of Paris, this park has it all - wide open spaces, Fench-style gardens, English-style gardens, not to mention the lake, educational farm and best of all - mountain bike trails!
