Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, Saint-Cloud

(3.8/5 based on 85+ reviews on the web)
Domaine National de Saint-Cloud offers 460 hectares of gardens, park, and woodland, and it represents one of the best examples of a classical garden. This venue was once a privilege of Philippe d’Orléans, the younger brother of Louis XIV, but no longer boasts a château, which was destroyed in a fire in 1870. However, you can still stroll about the grounds that burst at the seams with inspiring natural fixtures.

Designed by Le Nôtre, Domaine National de Saint-Cloud is also one of the most attractive parks to be found in the outer Paris area and has been dubbed with the "Outstanding Garden" label. Although an oasis of calm amidst the busy city, the park also holds a number of cafés and restaurants where you can grab a bite to eat and rest your feet. • Great Park, you can either stay in the signposted paths, or sink you into this beautiful forest and a beautiful walk. You can also rent bikes or run on trails in the land. There are in for everyone!

  • I visited Saint Cloud one morning in September 2013. After taking the metro to the station, you need to walk across a bridge and then cross to the side with the park. It's quite a large park. It was q...  more »
  • The lower part of the Park is the best known, but for those who love nature you can walk in the Woods on paths of Earth in peace. There are plenty of course, my favorite is a walk of about 10 km. Entry by Magenta boulevard near the pre Saint John where there is always free and free parking spaces. The Magenta entry, take the direction of the farm of the Stinger, passing behind the French Stadium (Tennis), pass the farm (where the kids love animals) and sink into the wood leaving to right exit Vaucresson. You have the A13 on your right, follow the path that comes up at the end to the output of Marnes-La-Coquette. Continue the path following the wall on your droite(il y a un petit chemin très sympa) and go to 30 m exit city of Angeles. Climb the Hill of the brush and make in the tower to retrieve the path that leads to the stadium French (main entrance to the Tennis), take right to take the bridge that goes over the national D985. Follow driveway to the underbrush to reach the point of view of the Lantern then the driveway of Chartres to return to your starting point.
