Cap Frehel, Saint-Brieuc

Categories: Lighthouses, Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.6/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web
You won’t find any towns or villages on Cap Frehel peninsula. The marshes and moorland make it difficult to construct structures on the peninsula, and the cliffs surrounding the site make it difficult to access it by sea. Your best access route is by walking the Sentier des Douaniers path to the wild, windswept area to view seabirds at the reserve, historic lighthouses, and a fortified castle straight out of a fairytale. Take a look at our Saint-Brieuc itinerary maker to schedule your visit to Cap Frehel and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • Not to be missed if you are in the area. Nature lovers will be delighted despite the influx. Very beautiful lighthouse. Only downside the parking charge in season (€2) for a natural site.

  • Great views over the beaches to the west, St Malo to the east and Jersey to the north
  • Great view, decent lighthouse. Good walking paths along the coast. But the best thing in this day trip is the last bakery before the cap; excellent patisserie.
  • This edge provides beautiful cliff side views with nice easy and short hikes (not for those looking for a challenge). Free entry and hiking, all you pay is the parking (€2).
  • Great view, but cafe is shutdown. Managed to see some dolphins!
  • Terrific view on the coast and the ocean.
