Cathedral of Saint Bertrand de Comminges, Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges
(4.5/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
As you enter Cathedral of Saint Bertrand de Comminges, notice the three distinct architectural styles from the 12th to the 16th centuries. The arches, cloister, and marble floor are Romanesque, including some of the tombs and sepulchers (burial chambers). The nave with arrow arches and much of the intricate stained glass is Meridional Gothic. The 67 choir stalls are Rennaisance style and feature characters and scenes from the Old and the New Testaments. Also, be sure to see the bizarre stuffed crocodile. This former cathedral is now a pilgrimage site on the Routes of Santiago de Compostela. • Visit the 07 12 under a big Sun... not a single visitor... From a distance the imposing and majestic Cathedral which dominates the city and the surroundings of almost silence of the cloister and the serenity that comes over you in the Cathedral, among other things, the outstanding chapter and the organ we would like to listen to...

  • The Cathedral is superb in the middle of a preserved village. Off-season and under the Sun, it's a real pleasure to admire architecture and facades. A magnificent organ of angle.

  • Impressive cathedral with relicts of saint Bertrand and incredible wooden organ. But the inner part with altar as well as gardens are payed by 5€ per adult.
  • This cathedral is breathtaking, don't hesitate one second to visit inside.
  • Nice time for a wedding. The site is very nice. Park downstairs and take the little train which brings you the top of the village because his climbing not bad. The Cathedral, its heart and its cloister sound very nice. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

  • Magnificent cathedral, classified Historical Monuments and registered in the world heritage of UNESCO. Located at the foot of the Pyrenees in one of the most beautiful village of France. A cloister with a view of the mountains, stalls carved in wood, an organ perched on columns... a small merviel. For lovers, a site not to be missed.
