  • I spent a very interesting half day tour at the Marquèze ecomuseum. The steam train set the scene for a great visit. Many thanks to Anne-Marie, our guide who made history come alive with her in depth....  more »
  • The aim is really to keep the authenticity. You have to take a 1900’ train to arrive to the “museum”. When you arrive you end up in a real country side with sheeps walking around, dog, goose... you.....  more »
  • Very good value day out, starts with a train ride to the area and a trail around well preserved buildings and demonstration's. Nice little cafe to,  more »

  • This place is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! You should plan to spend your day there if you want to see everything. There is a great treasure hunt for kids in French but all the descriptions inside are in French, English, and Spanish. There are many people dressed up to show you the art of living from the old days.
  • If you are on the road, this is a great little stop and time jump Back to 19 century rural France. Many old houses reconstructed on site. If you have kids, they will love it. There is an old auberge a bakery and a which house and farm animals as well!
  • Very interesting site including a train ride
  • . Not a theme park, a journey back in time” A very pleasant day can be spent here - we have visited several times and enjoyed it each time. TIP 1 Find out the times of the little train that takes you there, otherwise you'll be waiting at the station with nothing to do (there is no road access) TIP 2 Buy the fresh-baked bread made from flour milled on the premises - gorgeous! TIP 3 Very young children will be bored and fractious - it's not a theme park, there are no rides or slides. Ages 7 and above. TIP 4 take bottles of water and hats in the summer months - it can get very hot moving round. How many years have we been coming here? Too many to count! But the fact that we keep coming back tells you something very important: it's worth it. From catching the little olde-worlde train to get here, to peering inside the old houses and farm buildings, to walking around the lovely grounds and to learning (re-learning!) so much about life in the past, it's a great experience. Not for the toddler age group, but even teens will find something of interest. Especially as there's no wifi, so they will HAVE to ignore their phones! .
