Ecole Supérieure d'Art et Design Le Havre-Rouen, Rouen
(4.2/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
The former ossuary (a cemetery for plague victims' bodies) at Ecole Supérieure d'Art et Design Le Havre-Rouen is an eerie reminder of the plague's devastation during the Middle Ages. Take a stroll in the 16th-century, half-timber courtyard, which has four galleries with carved designs. Large beams in the fourth gallery feature haunting carvings of bones and skulls, as well as coffins and gravediggers' tools. Finding the entrance can be tricky. Keep an eye out overhead for a sign with the name of the atrium, which you access through a passage between two buildings,. As you enter the grounds, look to your right to see a mummified cat preserved in the wall. • It was not easy to find this place. It is nowhere indicated. You must first find the Church of Saint-Maclou art school and then enter. I suspect that the monastery is used as a school. Hung on the windshield stickers, no idea why, but that was a pity and disturbed the view. A nice place to sit down on the bench.

  • It is very near the Church of Saint makrooh. Dead leaves have fallen in 11 months and leaves in an eerie atmosphere. There was no tourists.
