  • An amazing guided tour though a piece of history. The guide spoke in English french and Spanish flawlessly. Very informative!!  more »
  • It is amazing to discover the techniques and the natural contribution of the hills. We have definitely enjoyed the visit of one of the best Roquefort. The visit is starting by 2 movies. I would recomm...  more »
  • The village itself is fairly uninspiring but it's evident everywhere that this is the home of the cheese. We chose Papillion because it was the first we came across and there was no charge. The journe...  more »

  • 2nd only to Société. Boutique is lacking in variety of goods and souvenirs. However, the staff were amazing and took time to explain everything and let us taste.
  • Some lengthy moments but overall very instructive and fun, so it's definitely worth it. The guide was awesome.
  • Apparently, the best Roquefort of France. A wide range of products for every taste. Cheeses are basically categorized by intensity, more the fungus developed in the cheese, the more taste. So coming to head the Premium edition, then the black, organic, red, and green! Know that red, what you buy in supermarkets, because, and I quote, "it is he who is best able to appeal to the largest number". If you're a "true" eater, you can take black, the limit of the Premium if you want to tell, or even organic if you're planete-friendly-healthy-bobo-hippie-ecolo (what I took, darn). The Bio is manufactured in the same way that black except that it's organic milk, so this gives a particular consistency. Prices are decreasing for half a loaf of 1.3 kg, we pay € 31, so €23 / kg, but it is more expensive (€27 / kg) If you take the smaller versions of 600g. Otherwise you can also stop on an area of on the A75 motorway which passes nearby and here you pay € 35/kg (this is not a joke...) We were able to visit the cellars that was cool, although you'll have to endure the silliness of some tourists who cannot refrain from making stupid remarks. Ah yes and you will have to bear the children, those whose parents have them hanging in there and who don't care how they made cheese from mold.

  • Beautiful guided tour, that also made it us in Spanish, with videos that don't talk about cheeses history and making them. Staff very friendly and willing to evacuate any questions that you have regarding this. The quality of the cheese is exquisite, and tasting after the visit makes it obligatory to take any. The cave is wet and very cold even in summer it is advisable to take shelter.
