  • It's already very individual to enter a Church down a few steps, but we could still visit a part of this beautiful building, the rest being in the works. It's very different from what one is accustomed to see, and it will surely be beautiful once the renovation is complete

  • The location of the collegiate church is atypical. According to popular tradition, in the 10th century, when the Normans invasions, a priest hid in a hollow tree trunk, a wooden statue representing the Virgin and child to remove it from looting. 2 centuries later, a shepherd would have found this statue in the same trunk. The Church was built on this site. Outside: this building, composed of granite and shale, used its Square Tower not far from the only 2 doors kept the city (door frame and door of the pond). Inside: by entering, you notice the inclination of the columns. This phenomenon is due to the fact that the collegiate church was built without foundations, in the rock: the shale. By this lack of Foundation, the College began to track the movement of the ground; She slid to the South. To stop this movement, the construction of the low-rated South has been achieved: this construction serves as a buttress. As a result of this construction, the College indeed stopped drag, but she started to rotate toward the West. A buttress to the West of the monument has been added. The collegiate church is a mix of style novel (Bell), Gothic (North side) and Renaissance. To the right of the choir is a beautiful stained glass window which tells the legend of the Shepherd finding the statue. It is currently under renovation. It will be certainly beautiful after its facelift.
