Parlement de Bretagne, Rennes

4.3
Parlement de Bretagne is the living symbol of parliament in Brittany and Rennes. After severe fire damage in 1994, parliament restored the building. Look on the ceiling in the Court of Appeals for a renowned painting, "The Triumph of Justice." Since 1655, parliamentary representatives sat at this location, but now the cultural association organizes cultural activities of parliament there. You can attend an art opening, watch theatrical works, or listen to chamber music or string quartet concerts featuring local artists. • Nice classic style building. In addition to the interest of its architecture CARC laid beautiful works for its decoration. Merit a visit, but is necessary to register in advance with the Office of tourism

  • Visit organised by the tourist office where you must register. The restorations of the destruction caused by a fire some years ago was especially made by professionals of large tiller. So the speaker guide guided us in this visit and has been able to captivate us in us on the history of this Parliament now Court. As the visit of the rooms the focus was access on the work of different designers over the years from the beginning until now.

  • I recommend visiting guided on request (2 h - tourism office). Building and Parliament attach permanently to Rennes in 1561, Germain Gaultier, local architect, designed the Palace, plans resumed for the façade by Marie de Medici and Salomon of brush (1571-1626). Inside very rich decoration and the jewels of La Grand' room. Unmistakable in Rennes!
