Parlement de Bretagne, Rennes

4.3
Parlement de Bretagne is the living symbol of parliament in Brittany and Rennes. After severe fire damage in 1994, parliament restored the building. Look on the ceiling in the Court of Appeals for a renowned painting, "The Triumph of Justice." Since 1655, parliamentary representatives sat at this location, but now the cultural association organizes cultural activities of parliament there. You can attend an art opening, watch theatrical works, or listen to chamber music or string quartet concerts featuring local artists. • I must admit that I was a little disappointed by the outside view of the Parliament of Brittany; The main staircase of the entrance was even squatted by 2 people who ate, so I have come full circle to see if there was another access... The garden below is nice. By the time I could not visit the inside which is initially beautiful

  • RV at 3 pm in the hall with the guide, but it was not counting on "security officers", not question to stay in the lobby to wait, go outside. We understand you get under the porch, no no, it's out in the rain to wait for the guide that we eventually go for 30 minutes, and no way to keep the door open. Vigipirate Yes, safety course, but it can be done politely and with a smile. Certainly we saw teeth of the sentinels, but not with a smile, but rather with a desire to do battle with a small group of seniors who came to thwart a NAP or a bad digestion. We eventually return after a careful search but only with male staff. Ladies agree to fiddle with in front of everyone by men and to search your bag by them if you have a medical equipment that you may not go under the portico. The visit of the Parliament is the price. I pass on discussions very aloud of the gatekeepers in the lobby while the guide trying to us explain the history of this monument in front of the stairs. Not bad for them, they need to know and so bad for these senior citizens seeking to grow. Without these people, the visit would be nice, too bad the guide speak less than the guardians. Go there, but you have been warned.

  • Very interesting opening for the patrimonial and cultural day in France. The visit was interesting and the guide have good stories.
  • Very nice building with most of the decoration is inspired Grand Siècle. Its modest size further strengthens case feel that emerges. Its rich history is combined with that of the region and is also a source of pride for the Rennes who are very attached to it. The restoration after the great fire of a few years ago is of goldsmith work, bravo. Unfortunately, some traces are still visible, but paradoxically they enrich this beautiful symbol.

  • It is with some emotion that I saw the Parliament, completely renovated and just as majestic as the former. The history of Brittany has been preserved. Bravo!
