Rennes le chateau, Rennes-le-Chateau

(4.2/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
World-renowned as the center of various conspiracy theories, hilltop Rennes le chateau is a village that attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year. The predominantly rural area has a rich history, as evidenced by its castles, cathedrals, vineyards, and museums. This picturesque countryside spot rose to fame thanks to the popularity of Dan Brown's mystery "The Da Vinci Code." The book has ties to Father Bérenger Saunière, a local 19th-century priest and subject of many claims and stories that surfaced in the 1950s. • Pretty village or reign a truly mystical atmosphere. Winter all the shops are closed except the Museum. A very nice lady keeps the trade next to the Church. You can find everything. Esoterism lovers, you'll find your happiness! The Church is pretty with all these mysteries. The Museum is a little "dusty" but says the essential. The Enigma of the treasure is the main attraction of this small village. And we really ended up questions on this good father SAUNIÈRE. Beautiful views not to be missed and I advice to visiting the Museum at least climb up the Magdala Tower or the panorama is breathtaking.

  • This place, full of mystery, with this special atmosphere in the autumn, which makes the visit involved. Of course do not miss Church and his "charming" stoup. Office of tourism we'll take the time to explain the "particularity" of the place.
