  • We went here for a rainy day, outdoor activities are limited with time. Count €8 entrance. A few reproductions of historical animals in the lobby, one place where you'll see. On the ground floor, there is an interesting temporary exhibition. On the floor we follow the story of man through the prehistory in Provence. Small interesting minutes movie. In short, little interesting Museum in this small village, a lot of reading but not quite animation or fun activity for my taste. Surely difficult for children. A reproduction of prehistoric village is located not far from the parking and full a little Museum.

  • To start, we got a rainy day at 17:40. On vacation just next door as good tourists, when it rains we do activities indoors. Entry we are told that it will be limited in terms of time to visit. While the search we did quickly we announced 1 h visit. Almost treats a liar by a member of staff we are paid €8. And there we have seen any educational murals, rocks exposed with incomprehensible for us scientific names visitor screening lifeless rooms see inactive and no one to possibly answer any question! I am always surprised to see that a large number of enthusiasts are invested in long-term research by involving the Prehistorians renowned and that the years traffic managers think about making easy money on the backs of tourists . Last year we had visited the Museum of the prehistory of Eyzies in the Dordogne and the difference is huge her we had been informed, informed, and the visit was interesting in any point!

  • The museum does not really cater to elementary school children who usually study prehistory. Except one or two exhibits the glass cases are to high for children, the language is not understandable by children under the age of 12 or older. A great disappointment

  • As a visitor motivated to get the most out of his visit (building and content), I can confirm the other reviewer's note that, this museum would be of marginal of interest for the very young. While there are interesting recreations of a wooly mammoth, a sabre-toothed tiger and wooly rhinocerous (among others) and numerous audio-visual exhibits to distract, the exhibits are informative but require reading skills and patience. For adults it is an excellent introduction to the geology and the geography of human habitation from the mid-Acheulian (from about 700,000 BC). I left the museum wishing I had another hour to continue my exploration. The area is a pleasant stop for lunch on the way from the Gorges du Verdon (Moustiers Sainte-Marie) and Saint-Maximin (access to the A8 motorway). Comment left 11 May 2013
  • If the children are there, we have to motivate them. It is a bit too technical for them and not enough interactive (treasure hunt, Riddle would be welcome). We see large animals at the entrance and we say WOW! Nope, nothing more. However for a presentation on prehistory, at the top!

  • I was quite disappointed by this museum. not very big, there are more cards and docs to read parts has admire. not really interesting for children. There are a few windows with scenes of life in prehistoric times but we quickly made the turn. What a pity, especially as this museum is presented in the Guide as a reference.
