  • This site comes across as quite ramshackle at the wooden shed/ ticket office where a collection of farm vehicles and dogs greet you. On entering through the gatehouse we got the impression things had ...  more »
  • We wanted to discover this beautiful castle seen from our childhood friends. We have never seen at a reception point someone (the owner) as unpleasant, insulting limit. Not him, above all no ask on the site and its environment. He better shut his Castle or take someone else to receive the public. We did not even get damage

  • Amazing views. Interesting history. 5€ might be a bit steep for what you get inside.
  • The best castle in France, 5 mins walk from the car park and I can't recommend enough the view from the roof of the keep - absolutely breathtaking just be careful as the walls are only knee height so watch the kids !!
  • View from the top is stunning. Chap on the gate was friendly. Worth an hour of your time for sure.
  • Newly resurfaced access road to car park compared with previous chaotic road. Contrary to many reviews I found the person at the entrance where you pay very nice and welcoming. The site is well documented on various boards throughout the castle . Access to the top of the donjon is now well lit with an led cord , no need to bring a torch. A lot of care in the restauration has been made to give a real feel of life from the 12th century onward. A good 2 hours can be spent admiring all aspects of this so well preserved Cathar castle and the views form the donjon roof top are magnificent. Well worth a detour in you find yourself in the region.
  • Stunning views from the top of the keep but you'll need a torch to get up there!! Definitely worth it though!
