  • Why? 1st point: since the Mesches Lake, we advise those who can to walk up. It's a hike without major difficulty by the road, a little taken by the trail. At its pace by taking the time to admire the scenery of waterfalls, mountain lakes and forests of larch. Why? 2nd point: spend the night at the shelter of wonders. Well informed on the possibilities offered to avoid setbacks. 2100 m, we forget all comforts of the modern life. But there is supper, sleep, have breakfast and order his pick-nick for the return. For the rest, life without hot water and the joys of the dorms, we let you judge for yourself...! Why? 3rd point: do the tour of the site of the engravings. THE MUST. Already because the site is protected and that without it, there is no access. And when more, we can't at this stage to miss out on the pleasure of discovering the countless number of engravings. Why? ... but just for fun walk in the footsteps of those who came before us!

  • For years, I try to visit the site but I have always collided with the rules that regulate it; in practice, or if you are ready to make a hike to many hours just to reach the refuge (and then are other hours for grafiti) or you have to succumb to the transport by jeep which costs the not inconsiderable figure of 85 euros per person (Guide included). The impression is being faced with a sort of ' mafietta ' of the premises.

  • The village below the Valley is hard to reach, often is not recognized by the browser, but is very friendly and has hotel/restaurant and parking. The archaeological site is only reachable by Jeep or on foot and in both cases the Council a suitable outfit consisting of hiking boots, suit (long or short), backpack equipped with plenty of water and sandwiches (given the dearth of dining options and sources) and rackets. The walking path is very long and of medium difficulty therefore advise you to be in the country by the 8:30. For those far away there is also the possibility to arrive the day before and sleep in a hotel so as to be fully refreshed for your journey. For those who love trekking is the place to go, also once you arrive at the archaeological site full of graffiti and surrounded by a charming landscape all effort is rewarded. It is a unique and extraordinary place that I would recommend anyone to visit. Not recommend for elderly people and families with children under 8 years old but the possibility of the route in a Jeep which are not very informative.
