  • This small museum nestled behind the old port on two levels in a former chapel of the white Penitents of the sixteenth century is probably the most beautiful small museum in France. This is a real gem for several reasons. First, it is one of the few french museums almost exclusively centered on pointillist and Fauvist, movements then because it only contains paintings of small dimensions, but only of authentic masterpieces, often unsung and sometimes atypical, Seurat and Signac (ah! that dock of Saint-Tropez by mistral), of Derain, Matisse, Degas, Marquet, but also of Monet, Bonnard, or of Maurice de Vlaminck without forgetting this bather Drapee and this nymph of Maillol, a little later, but so inviting... Finally because this museum is very bright with a scenography stripped in a slightly inconsistent order that takes you from one surprise and that wonderfully highlights these works that we'd like to have in his living room... As a bonus, there is never anyone in this Museum, which is both surprising and unfortunate because the public seems to prefer other pleasures in Saint Tropez, but also a chance very selfish to be able to visit this gem of a museum as if you were invited to the home of friends collectors.

  • Very small museum but that brings together a great collection: some sculptures (Maillol) but above all a set of very interesting paintings, including many pointillist works.
