Planete Sauvage, Port-Saint-Pere

3.7
#1 of 46 in Outdoors in Loire-Atlantique
A safari in France seems incredible, but it does exist, at Planete Sauvage. The park spans 130 hectares (320 acres), with over 1,000 animals wandering amidst re-creations of their natural habitats. You’ll need a car to drive the 10 km (6.2 mi) trail, where you’ll see the animals up close as they wander free in their environments. A guided off-road adventure in a 4x4 will get you even closer, but the most intimate views come when you wander on foot through a replica of an Ivory Coast village and a flamingo- and monkey-filled jungle, or visit the dolphins in Marine City. Nice day for the young and old! Animals and their enclosures are very clean, which to me is essential in a zoo... We started with the pedestrian part with the dolphin show: at the TOP! Continued in the Bush path, many species of animals to see. Then we went back to the parking lot to eat, and we were a little disappointed not to find that a few wooden tables so that thousands of people come every day... To continue our trip we decided to go on the safari by car, it was great! We had the chance to see a lot of animals... The course may seem long, because as everywhere there are always people who abuse and stay too long before animals and not always obvious to double... Finally we returned to the pedestrian part in order to see the rest and it was also very good. However there are efforts to make clean toilets and restaurants... Then it would be cool too not to be assaulted in the KM5 bar when I asked 4 plastic cups... Let me explain: the young woman who have served us our drinks (1 beer, 2 ice tea bottled and canned pr 2 oasis a total of € 24) replied that it was only 2 cups because there wasn't that 2 cans... my husband was then told he could pay him if she wanted to but needed us 4 cups, she said "Yes go it's good" and he THREW (Yes cast Yes!) cups... I think it's unacceptable!

For a day at Wild Planet: superb visit so yes in the month of August there is of the world. A word of advice, get your tickets in advance and introduce yourself to the opening starting preferably with the Safari park. This part of the Park has superb paddocks. Other parts of the Park are more modest with their own theme. A Council will see the dolphin show which is very nice. A small downside lack of parties picnic in the parking of the entry level because there are taken at meal times... I recommend this park which correct rates.

If you don't like traffic jam then do not come in high season like August, before you end up complaining and give 1 star review. Overall visit was fun..kids had fun.. saw 3 cheetahs from very close and they are beautiful. Dolphin shows were amazing, kids will love it, only the big cats family is missing some cats for example : we didn't see any single male lion. There are restaurants inside the pedestrian area..there are picnic area inside the safari track.

Very good. Strongly recommend driving your own car through the park and not with the busses/trucks from the park. As always in parks the food is both crappy and extremely overpriced so recommended to bring your own food.

Loved the drive through experience compared to regular zoo. It did involve a bit of queuing, although this was in the comfort of your car. Much better viewing opportunities due to moving viewpoint. Safer animals were VERY friendly i.e. sticking heads into car. Dolphin show a spectacular added bonus.

Brilliant day out, I was surprised at the amount of space the animals had to roam around. Defiantly recommend 😊
