  • Got to Tour Fondue, there is a convenient outdoor parking 2 minutes on foot from the landing stage, with the ferry are 15/20 minutes by boat to 19.50 euros return. A small harbor island without cars only on foot or by bike, we rent to 15 euros a day, better to take a bottle of water, leaving the port with its pleasant white houses, small restaurants, there goes with trails and dirt roads between a Mediterranean Bush, to discover its beautiful beaches and blue sea During this time the place is pleasant, fewer people. We then had lunch at a restaurant on the piazza del porto next to the Church. On a beautiful spring day to remember.

  • Cute, short transfer. The parking, the transfer and if you still want to rent a bicycle, do not make it cheap. The harbour is small and tailored to arriving tourists. They have very tasty ice cream NIE am. You can do four different walks or bicycle tours, different distances Very beautiful bays and beaches, scenic views. Worth a detour!

  • I was there in August and I find many people, instead we hired a boat at the port and did a tour of the island with beautiful bathrooms. Experience not to be missed

  • Paradise on Earth. Beautiful, still relatively unexploited island, with beautiful beaches, wonderful water and gorgeous sceneries all around. Can't recommend it enough.
  • Really nice place. Really recommended
  • Proper destination for MTB beginners and beach fans. No destination for car drivers or moto cyclists. I've been there four times now with my bike and I can recommend this little island for a single day trip both for easy MTB tours and simply lying on one oft the many the beaches. You can reach the island via La Tour Fondue (ferry timetable say each 30mins) and the biggest challenge for the transfer is to find a parking for the car. I solved it by dropping the car a few kilometers away from the port on a more or less safe place and took the bike to get to the ferry terminal. The ferry transfer takes about 20 minutes and after reaching the island's port you have quick access to various restaurants and boat / bike rentals. From the central port lot of tracks lead into the inner part of the island and also to the beaches. The roads are not fixed ones but for footwalk and MTB it's ok. While one obvious goal for the visitors is spending time on the beach I prefer the MTB. Several old military objects such as light houses are located and signed on the tracks. So riding from one location to another is collecting both distance and height meters. Most tracks are wide enough for hikers and bikers at the same time. I never had a conflict with hikers. As the only place to buy food and drinks is the harbour you should make sure to have sufficient amount of liquids and food while you are on the tracks. The light houses are more or less just for orientation. There is no opportunity to buy food/water over there. As I am afraid of height I can judge the trails from my fear perspective: they are simple, leading up and down through the woods and on some parts near the edges of rocks but as far as I'm concerned these parts have never been critical to me. You can spend an easy day on the island but it is definetly not really a challenge for those who look for long tracks. So next time on the island is to introduce others into it. My personal goal is reached and I need forther destinations. Enjoy the island! The water is clear and warm and it's worth spending a day over there. Additional hint: the perpendicular island of hyeres is linked to the the country via two long roads (salines inbetween). In a single row there are parkings on the one side while there are further beaches on the other side. Leaving Porquerolles on the early afternoon enables you to get a parking over this 'route du sel' without a big search so you can extend time over there for another one or two hours... Append: the reason why I do not give 5 stars is because after having seen the island 4 times it starts to become boring. Furthermore I missed restaurants on other parrs than the harbour. I usually ride with only a few kg's of load but if you have to carry additional kg's of water this is what I do not like that much. Especially because you need plenty of it!!!
  • Paradis
  • A paradise out of time, to a few hours of our major cities. Just a must! The bike tour is a thing to do!
