Chateau Belingard, Pomport

4.8
#4 of 16 in Wineries in Dordogne
Named after the Celtic sun god, Chateau Belingard boasts a 200-year-long history of producing red and white wines. Nestled on a green hillside, the chateau has been home to seven generations of wine-makers. It was first restored in the 1820s, while the vinery went through a modernization process during the 1960s and 1970s. Those who wish to admire the scenic views and discover the chateau's history at their own pace can take self-guided tours by using a smartphone or a tablet provided at the reception. The gardens feature an ancient sacrificial chair-shaped altar carved into a rock. Put Chateau Belingard at the forefront of your travel plans using our Pomport trip itinerary maker site .

  • Fantastic afternoon spent at Château Bélingard. We were very well looked after got to try everything we wanted. You can do the self guided tour or guided on the right day (in English). Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.
  • Excellent tour and tasting with knowledgeable and charming guide. High quality wines, sensibly priced!
  • We visited Chateau Belingard today, sadly just for a short stop. The owner Laurent gave us a very warm welcome and we were delighted by the beautiful views. More importantly, the wines we tasted were delicious and Laurent was a patient and helpful guide. We're looking forward to our wine arriving soon and to sharing it with our friends. Highly recommended. Neil & Lynne
  • My husband and I first visited Château Bélingard in 2007 with a group of friends for a wine tasting and tour and were blown away by the stunning views, delicious selection of high quality wines and knowledgeable and friendly owners and staff. Having returned last month, we were delighted to have our expectations matched in all of these areas. The wines themselves are of the utmost quality from the crisp and dry rosé (which we prefer to most we've tried) to the premium Ortus. We would recommend the experience to anybody passing through the beautiful Bergerac.
  • Beautiful place, like few others!
