Of the two lighthouses, the taller Cap Frehel Lighthouse is 30 m (98 ft) high with 145 steps. It was built in 1950 with a beam said to be one of the strongest of all lighthouses, reaching up to 110 km (68 mi). The large main quarters are decorated with a 8 sq m (26 sq ft) fresco dedicated to leading the Côtes d'Armor.   • on my good lady hit list and she wasn't disappointed. we were lucky with the weather but unlucky that the lighthouse was closed on the 1st october 
  • 30 September, practically only to admire the ocean and the cut side. Between the Cap Fréhel and Cap of Erquy, lovely coves, deserted by tourists at this time of the year.
