Camping d'Arone, Piana

(400 reviews on the web)
The fine sandy beach at Camping d'Arone is crescent shaped and surrounded by pink granite rocks and boulders against a mountainous backdrop. You can drive along the scenic mountainside road to get to the beach past Capo Rosso and over the Porto Gulf. A monument inland from the beach serves as a reminder of the Casablanca submarine that delivered the first firearms and provisions to the resistance in February 1943, which facilitated the birth of the underground movement during World War II. • After a 3 hours hike it's interesting to get a good drink with a lunch alike. That's what plage d'Arone stands for, with a good café de la Plage with excellent food at the beach.  more »

  • Nice location with a lot of space, trees provide shadow and privacy. close to the beach. Only one sanitary station for the whole park. Ran out of baguette very early in the morning.
  • Hike to the tower in the evening and enjoy the glowing red granite Location: 5 Coziness: 4 Freedom: 5 Sanitary: 4 Shade: 5 We visited the place in 05/2016
  • Nice camp 450 m from beach. Clean bathrooms, small shop, normal camp.
  • We expected a lot more from this camp site. Strange practice of taking your ID for them to keep till your departure, no electricity despite being paid for, combined bathrooms and toilets, which werent very clean and a really distant beach with a severly limited access due to the area restricted to boat parking.
  • Large campsite, toilets clean, small shop in the camp. About 5 minutes on foot to sea.
