Built where an ancient Roman villa once lay, Chateau Val-Joanis is a winery famous all over France. Wines produced here are of AOC classification and the French Ministry of Culture has named it one of the “Remarkable Gardens of France”. The building is decorated with the coat of arms of Jean de Joanis, the secretary of the King Louis III of Naples. The estate was occupied by the Arnaud family, who kept it until the 17th century. • We stopped by for a visit as we had been drinking some of their roses. After a tasting, we agreed that the roses were the best of the wine produced here. Staff was very helpful and spoke good English....  more »
  • The property is in a particularly beautiful Luberon corner full of vineyards, olive groves and pine forests. In front of the entrance to the "Chateau" impresses with its beauty big bed of low screws. In the boutique are exposed in plain view the wines produced by the company which you can taste and buy. We tasted some, all good, but our choice fell on a great "Josephine 2015 rosé '. We concluded our visit with a walk in the nice garden with terrace, which is also garden and orchard. Highly recommended tour if you're over there!!
