  • On the road to Périgueux, we were curious to discover this cave. We were the only visitors to this visit and had the right to a private visit. The place commands respect by his beauty and the guide was able to provide us with valuable information. Worth the trip!

  • We visited this cave during a family outing. We arrived late in the day for the last tour. In any event the cave is very pretty, interesting. But the staff present that day her absolutely did me not want to recommend. Cold and not smiling, even the Hello to struggled to come out when we arrived. In short, open your eyes to the cave but close your eyes on the staff.

  • Excellent with tour guide and audio guide. We enjoyed the coolness of the cave during a very hot week.
  • I love this anyway, but fantastic natural beauty and one of the most accessible cave's I've been too. Excellent, well recommended.
  • Great caves. Not claustrophobic. Children enjoyed it
  • Very nice to see if you havent seen a cave before. The English tourguide is a bit boring and her pronouncements are a bit broken English. Tour was way too long and not everything was interresting. Price is good. € 8,20 for a tour per person.
  • Probably the only truly wheelchair accessible cave, this under ground stream was discovered only recently (1995) and opened to the public a couple of years later. This has allowed the management of the cave to put in place strict sustainability regulations in place from the beginning. So no late 1800 graffiti here, and infrastructure that makes it probably the only truly wheelchair accessible cave. That said, the cave does have its share of real attractions, it was formed by a small underground river forming a tunnel like space. The limestone shapes are very varied, including some eccentrically sideways growing ones. It is a relatively small and therefore intimate cave that can be visited as part of a (one hour) tour only. It is not the ‘most impressive’ or ‘largest, highest, deepest of anything’ but within half an hour of Hautefort a very interesting way to spend an hour or two. Pick-nick space available outside.
