Phare d'Eckmuhl, also known as Point Penmarc'h Light or Saint-Pierre Light, is one of the tallest lighthouses in the world with a height of 65 m (213 ft) above sea level. The tower was built from 1893 to 1897 out of kersanton, the same stone found in nearby quarries used to build the base of the Statue of Liberty. A wood-paneled room at the top has a bronze statue of Prince Eckmühl. You will enjoy an unforgettable view at the top by daring to climb all 307 steps (227 stone steps followed by an iron staircase).
