  • This impressive art deco building shows off a selection of the collection. The welcome at the desk is a good start and the explanation helpful. Of course it's smaller than the Louvre, but by showing a...  more »
  • It's a beautiful museum that deserves a big renovation of more complete than that carried out some time ago... Especially for its rather grey exteriors... Beautiful pieces to discover beautiful pictures but an unpleasant impression that all works have been placed here where there was room. There is no logic of a room to another, or even within the walls of each room. An impression of exposure with no particular sense making no connection between what we to view and what we'll see. It's a shame for this point. This museum deserves despite the detour during a day of heritage. In normal times, the prices remain pretty excessive...

  • I recently had the opportunity to re discover the Museum of Fine Arts of Pau and this with great pleasure. The site and the exhibition rooms are well worth the exhibited works. Architecturally, the building itself is representative of the style of the 1930s. The paintings and sculptures begin in the 16th century and ends on the floor with contemporary works. Beyond a few paintings by great masters including 10 works not to be missed, and for which you will be given a leaflet at reception (El Greco, Rubens, Corot, Degas...) you can admire several regionalist paintings. Really a place not to be missed, count 2 to 3 hours! Visit free on 1st Sunday of the month
