  • Great place in Pau to understand the great fervour of the béarnais for Henri IV. Nice tour as the guide was exciting and passionate. For our 4 teens visit was a little too long... we, adults, didn't spend with visiting of historical narratives, explanation of tapestries... We hadn't booked our tickets but have no problems starting the tour 10 minutes after our arrival. Of course, this isn't Chenonceau but worth the detour.

  • At Châtau de Pau the future great King Henri IV. of France as Prince Enric is born of Navarre. He is still highly revered as "lo nòstre bon rei Enric" (our good King Heinrich). Here, you can visit also his cradle - a Meeresschidkröte - tank.

  • very nice Castle but very reworked in the 19th century what made him lose his authenticity. inside almost all furniture is 19th. However very beautiful collection of tapestry. very interesting guide. Still worth to be visited.

  • Very nice to visit. Free tour for children (5.50 for adults), normally not accessible to people with reduced mobility
