Stravinsky Fountain, Paris

Categories: Fountains, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web
A whimsical public fountain ornamented with 16 works of sculpture, plus moving and spraying water representing the works of composer Igor Stravinsky, Stravinsky Fountain was created in 1983 by sculptors Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle. The fountain is a shallow basin of 580 sq m (6,243 sq ft) above the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique, an organization devoted to promoting modern music and musicology. Because of the offices and rooms below, the fountain was designed to be as lightweight as possible, with very shallow water, a bottom of stainless steel, and sculptures composed of plastic and other light materials. • Cudna fontana. U modernom duhu umetnicka. Prvo sto sam videla je street art Dalija na zidu i samo sam u njega gledala. Ja mislim da je Dali na zidu, ispravite me ako nije. Hvala :)
  • This fountain is located close to the Centre Pompidou, is very cheerful and colourful, gives color to a gray area.

  • Knn don't miss this fountain who is at the Centre Pompidou. Very nicely designed as an expression of modern art. Adapts to the area very well. should you necessarily see.

  • Busy but pleasant square surrounding the fountains themselves, which are interesting visually. Bordered by a number of cafés and patisseries, with outdoor seating.
  • Interesting fountain, nice square with cafes. Don't love the cafes that much, I wish they were a little cuter or nicer.
  • Little fountain pool which is surrounded by shops and buildings. No cars drive here so it's quieter. Colorful fountain!
  • If you are planning to visit the Georges Pompidou Centre, make sure you take a detour over to the left of the building where you will find the Igor Stravinsky fountains. It is a big shallow pool of water that contains around 7-10 colorful and whimsical fountains which all have a name. Hopefully they are operating as they some of them move and twirl around as well as spit water. Something that will catch everyone's eye. A great place for a short break as well.
  • MUST SEE. Easy it's next to Beaubourg. Can't miss it
