  • A reminder very touching this socio-historical period horribly sad. A salutary return without ostentation of life on a daily basis whose simplicity gives more strength and humanity leads to mark the conscience of all without exception. Edifying and discreet. No need of demonstration, the images speak loudly.

  • Between the walls of this building fits the story of one of the darkest periods of national memory: Jewish persecution and her chase of the Israelites by the executioners of the Gestapo. Thousands of names engraved that came to be rounded up and shipped to the camps of horror, exhausted faces and looks in a vacuum: what sin we are condemned to this cruel fate?

  • Vert moving visit of course. And you'll also learn it started well before Hitler. High level of security but very welcoming and helpful staff.
  • Shattering experience, the exhibition is very well done, it takes some time to get back to today's reality
  • Meticulously archived documents and images that are immersive and insightful. A beautiful and touching museum, not to be missed.
  • Amazing place, free entrance! Must see if you have interest in the Jewish religion / holocaust / ww2!!
  • A little anemic for a Holocaust memorial, but demonstrate some important histories of the era

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
