Rungis Market, Paris
(3.9/5 based on 25 reviews on the web)
Rungis Market is the world's largest wholesale market for fresh produce. In fact, fish, meat, fruits, vegetables, cheese, and fresh flowers are sold here every day in quantities so large an entire train station and highway exit have been built to serve it. You may have a hard time visiting this site without planning ahead. Keep in mind no passenger trains or buses go here, as well as most taxis, and you need a card to enter. Despite these troubles, Rungis Market is a piece of heaven for any travelling gourmet.

From this venue, you may be able to see the Eiffel Tower and the Tour Montparnasse on the horizon before entering. Inside, the market serves clients from some of the best restaurants in Paris, and only the freshest, highest quality products are sold.

It is recommended you look into a private Rungis tour guide, who could help you arrange transportation and entrance cards. Plan your visit to Rungis Market and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Paris trip generator.

  • Ranžis Europe's largest wholesale market. To get there from the street and buy something impossible. You want to be or a representative of an organization (so at least you give to enter, but not buy) or go there with excursion. I was lucky I was there as "its", with a representative of one of the firms-suppliers of meat from Britain. We arrived late at 6 am. Yes, at this time the market was starting to close. The most correct time 4-5 am. Then, you can catch all the pavilions at the height of the work and transactions of suppliers. Ranžis is a special world, its laws and the atmosphere. It was a great adventure to look at his life at least one eye, sit in cafes, watching workers (by the way, we met almost no women). I wish all gourmets, passionate people food, make the same journey, to see what happens in the heart of the gastronomic world, see what real freshness and feel the magnitude of the food machine-Ranžis wholesale market!

  • Enchanted (hyper) morning visit: get up at 3: 00! everything is well organized, the day guide (Francis) is passionate and communicates to us - bring shoes market-pity we can not visit the "poultry" pavilion - visit enough the group is rather welcomed by staff (since we're still on them at work!) -easy to make photos on place-breakfast was delicious-

  • Ranžis-this is a huge wholesale food market for the professionals, in the Paris suburbs. Individuals can go back on the tour, paying, if I am not mistaken, 10 euros. They can look but not buy. The market is huge, well-run, begins to work at night and running early in the morning. and really spectacular, for those who are interested. Ranžis Market it a small grocery store near the market.
