  • This street located in the swamp is the boundary between the 3 rd and 4 th arrondissements. It starts from the Place des Vosges ending street Rambuteau that the extended side West. It is in the direction of flow West to East she was originally in 1334, named so by the presence of a hospital for poor people "bourgeois" and held by volunteer clerics called "Francs Bourgeois" she ran along the walls of Paris dating from Philippe Auguste built in 1200. A remnant of this forum, in the form of turn round, known as Pierre Alvart, is still in the courtyard of the Municipal Credit at no. 55 of the street. "And then over the years, it is extended by integrating streets such as ' pulleys" to the 'paradise' etc, to be what it is today. I often visit this street when I go in the neighborhood and I don't get tired to admire many "Hotels individuals" to much processed in an Institution; West side found the No. 60, the Hotel of Soubise in the classic style of the 18th century, which is occupied by the National Archives dating from 1808 under Napoleon. They will visit with interest including its beautiful gardens. Side street of the Archives you can see an entry with Portal surmounted by medieval-style turrets. No. 55 at the Credit Municipal, former Mount of piety, which was installed in the former premises of the monastery of the white coats dating from the 17 th century; Further the church Our Lady of white coats, has a schedule entry and deserves a visit by the beauty of the interiors of classical style and its Chair in marquetry. When you walk on this street, there are also a great corner of Jean de Herouet House at no. 44, medieval style at the intersection with the old woman of the Temple Street. A dead end located at no. 38 named impasse of the archers, where the Duke of Orleans was assassinated in 1407. 1620 corbelled houses, there are still in this narrow passage. In the 13 th century, this passage allowed to go to the driving range of the Crossbowmen located just on the edge of the walls of Philippe Auguste. At no. 39 and can be observed an old style dating from 1830 building which was the headquarters of the association of jewelers, jewelers and goldsmiths, today occupied by a UNIQLO clothing store Hotel of Coulanges, which houses the House of Europe in Paris, is located at no. 37 and date from the 17 th century you can also access the garden of roses, which can be visited with interest the Paris cultural affairs management , is the superb Hotel particular "d'Albret" at no. 31, which dates from the 16th century, built by the Constable Anne de Montmorency. Access to the central courtyard. The main entrance to the No. 31 is beautiful in the classic style across the cobbled street we find on the right the library history of the city of Paris, who owns a corner tower. Further it is nice to take a break in the garden of the Hotel of Lamoignon at no. 25 which is decorated in the evening, by a lawn illuminated by multiple planted spots. Across the street at no. 16, one can visit the beautiful "Carnavalet Museum" (closed on Monday) with his great court and buildings of classic style devoted to "The history of Paris" from the "Parisis" Gauls. I never miss to visit this museum. The street has also stores of prestige, clothes and objects of art and very few restaurants with the exception "Of the Dome of the Marsh", located at no. 53 after taking full eyes of architectural elements, we get to my favorite place, which is "The Place des Vosges", built in the style "Henri IV" with a perspective that is perfect with its central garden where it is nice to enjoy the scene. Access by metro are pretty remote. The West station "Rambuteau" line no. 11 may be used, then down Street Beaubourg to City Hall and then left the rue Rambuteau eastward. East side, get off at the station "Green path" line no. 8, then back to the Bastille by the Boulevard Beaumarchais and turn right to the Place des Vosges
