  • This Parisian bridge is quite popular and visited by tourists by places that communicates (is right in the Centre and close to the Louvre Museum) more for its architectural beauty and its historical value. We crossed it a couple of times and we also saw it during a boat ride on the Seine.

  • Its name derives from bridge over triumphal arch Karruzel′, opposite which he was. The Centre of Paris. Connects to the Louvre with Saint-Germain-des-Prés. The current rebuilt concrete bridge is faced with stone, with the entrances faces stone allegorical sculptures.

  • This bridge is located at the level of the Louvre in the 7 th arrondissement of Paris and connects the track which crosses the square of the Louvre pyramid or place du Carrousel, right bank, left bank Voltaire Pier, in the District of Saint Germain des Prés. Oddly, it does not extend by a street or left bank side avenue, as most Parisian bridges. Rue des Saints Pères is indeed shifted over the outlet of the bridge. The first bridge at a time called "Pont des Saints Pères" in 1834, as directed in the right place. The original bridge was built in 1839, under concession and so toll, with a bold design combining iron and wood and is inadequate to navigation on the river Seine as too low; In addition it moving dangerously! In 1935, the original bridge to be destroyed and was replaced by a concrete bridge armed with 3 arches and stone ornaments to make more chic. But it is offset from the first to be in line with the door instead of the Carrousel du Louvre and leave the old bridge in place during the work. Indeed this bridge has good looks and does not denote respect the architecture of the nearby Louvre. It does at each end of the elevations in stone, with a statue and a column bronze square and tapered section. On the side of the dock François Mitterrand, the departure of the bridge is very successful with the great gate of the Louvre. Access to the bridge is done by the "Palais Royal Musée du Louvre" station lines Nos. 1 and 7, located rue de Rivoli, so you have to walk to get there.
