(4,200+ reviews on the web)
Landmark
The oldest planned square in Paris, Place des Vosges is a quiet spot surrounded by cafes and shops. Listen to the trickle of water from one of the four fountains while sitting at a bench. Henri IV built this perfect square 140 sq m (460 sq ft) from 1605 to 1612 to use as a royal pavilion for duels. Green lawns radiate out from its center. Expertly manicured lindens surround a formal plantation of mature linden trees called a bosquet, which provide a shady oasis. With our custom trip planner, Paris attractions like Place des Vosges can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Years ago, I came to Paris for the first time, and Place des Vosges was one of my favorite places to visit. Victor Hugo lived here at one point, and the Square, with its beautiful buildings, arcades, ...  more »
  • I had expected more. The beautiful weather seen there were many people on the grass, what made it cozy, but the real atmosphere was missing.

  • We rented a boat there and go for a row. The lake is quite big, but shallow, so it is safe even without safe vests. It was a lot of fun!
  • Nice place in Paris centre. An area where you can relax. Enjoy the beauty of Paris.
  • A very nice place to spend a sunny afternoon in Paris. Plenty of art galleries (not my favorite ones!) Some very nice cafés specially the cafe Carette where you can have some of the best patisseries in town.
  • A really nice place to get some fresh air, relax and forget about your troubles! Enjoy some sunshine in the garden or curl up with a book under the shade of a tree. You really can have it all here!
  • I decided to walk through this urban park on my way back to my hotel and was pleasantly surprised at how calming that experience was. Even though Amsterdam isn't a particularly loud city, walking through the park felt like the city had been left behind. It was nice to watch the locals play soccer, picnic, walk their dogs. Great green space. Tip: It is a long and narrow park. Great place to hang out and chill.
