Passage Verdeau, Paris

4.5
#57 of 142 in Museums in Paris
This covered walkway, Passage Verdeau, lends an air of elegant charm with its neoclassical glass roof and fine shops. Although connected to other passages, including passages Panoramas and Jouffroy, this lesser known aisle has a stretch of antique stores, rare bookshops, and vintage dealers, making it an interesting place for you to shop for souvenirs. You also can’t miss the century-old photo shop that has existed since 1901.

Passage Verdeau was constructed in 1847 and is named after M. Verdeau. It’s also located right next door to the famous antiques and fine art auction house of Hotel Drouot. For Passage Verdeau and beyond, use our Paris road trip tool to get the most from your Paris vacation.

  • Built in 1847, it is one of the most charming walkways of the capital. It is located in the extension of two other well-known passages: the Panoramas and Jouffroy. One can notice the front door in neo-classical architecture. In the passage, you will discover many antique and unusual shops. the presence of a canopy gives a nice brightness with the decorations of this passage.

  • Walking on the Blvd Montmartre we discovered jewelry of the 19th century early 20th including restaurant Bouillon Chartier and the wonderful Passage Verdeau. Time stopped at this place one has the impression of traveling back in time. The ceilings e glass well illuminate many woodwork of different shops and restaurants. It is a must to see and at the same time, I would recommend a purchase to the parent family factory which is the neighbouring business of Passage

  • Very beautiful passage that recalls the past in Paris. There is nothing exceptional apart from craft shops, but it is worth visiting if you're in the neighborhood

  • A lovely place to stroll, window shop and have a coffee. With shops arranged tastefully and displays that compete with small museums...wouldn’t it be cool if all malls were like this. Find tintin display. Gaze at fine art etchings. Look At the floors. Look at the ceiling. Look all around. Its lovely. Stop at the “book store” outside the front gate and buy a button, postcard or even a book and you will be contributing to a French institution. Get a pastry in the pastry shop inside and become part of the institution of French life. It’s lovely.
  • Nice small street. A bit difficult to find but many interesting things.
  • Very nice you can find anything there from old arts to books and great restaurants and coffee shop as well clothes and toys...
  • Nuce but turisty
  • Special place with special stores that bring you to another world inside Paris.
