Passage Jouffroy, Paris
(4.4/5 based on 150+ reviews on the web)
Built in 1845 to capitalize on the popularity of the older Passage des Panoramas, Passage Jouffroy is a glass-and-iron covered walkway filled with exclusive shops. It extends 140 m (460 ft) through the city, and was quite a feat for its day. It was the first Parisian passage built entirely of metal and glass and heated through the floor. Many consider this a precursor to modern shopping malls. To visit Passage Jouffroy on your holiday in Paris, and find out what else Paris has to offer, use our Paris family vacation planner.

  • A must visit to this passage under the canopy to the ancient charm. The shops are from another time and unique stores toys, canes, booksellers... so that some modern and commercial brands come invade this beautiful place and spoil the scenery!

  • Covered passage not much visited by tourists, full of old toys and different stores. A true back to the past. It also has a wax museum Grévin.
