Built in 1845 to capitalize on the popularity of the older Passage des Panoramas, Passage Jouffroy is a glass-and-iron covered walkway filled with exclusive shops. It extends 140 m (460 ft) through the city, and was quite a feat for its day. It was the first Parisian passage built entirely of metal and glass and heated through the floor. Many consider this a precursor to modern shopping malls. To visit Passage Jouffroy on your holiday in Paris, and find out what else Paris has to offer, use our Paris family vacation planner.

  • As the passage boasts a nearly 200-year history. It is variations on crank, there is difference between the high and low. In fact the difference between the high and low border of medieval Paris and Paris after the revolution, turned historic building Foundation in the basement. Around that hotel Chopin is best.

  • The 9th district resident, I discovered this passage which houses many unsuspecting shops: tea, toys, canes and jewelry business. Note the recent arrival of a Marks & Spencer food store which offers delicious sandwiches, cookies baked on the spot and all kind of gourmet originalities of season. A must see.

  • Lovely French architecture. The thrill of these passages is that you never know what you will find in them.
  • Multiple shopping stores but expect an early closing and you wouldn't go there shopping unless u happen to be passing by

  • One of my favorite Paris, it is high and majestic, and stores it contains can busy you for a good while.
