Paris Plage, Paris

2.5
#35 of 75 in Parks in Paris
Recline on a riverfront beach at Paris Plage. The mayor of Paris decided to create temporary, artificial beaches each summer along the river Seine in the center of Paris and along the Bassin de la Villette. Every July and August, roadways on the banks of the Seine are blocked off and transformed into sandy beaches. You can even relax under palm trees. Unlike many French beaches, topless sunbathing is not permitted. Swimming in the Seine is not allowed for safety reasons. Every year new features are added, such as a shuttle ferry linking the two riverbanks and a floating swimming pool. • This day will be unforgettable for my two boys of 4 and 5 years old, my husband and I. Swim on the la Villette canal all people are very nice to the lifeguard safety. Activities such as pedalos, ball rolls on the crazy laugh and l water air breaks out a total of our surprise everyone was free. The hut are installed on the channel have got to eat and snack on site at a very interesting price. There are plenty of pub and restaurant in the corner that leaves really the choice. I strongly tomorrow the last j c Council strongly hope they put it back next year.

  • Fancy a break out of the noise and ambient excitement? Go to Paris beach... Small shops alternate with sun loungers to admire the river Seine and its surroundings... At the end of a bridge to meet lucky of eel fishermen...

  • Beach Paris unusual set free sun beds and umbrellas from about 10 am. Works with 28 June to 15 August. It's nice to come in the morning. Enjoy views of the Seine River, listen as sing the bells of Notre Dame. You can lie just with a book and a bit of rest before further study in Paris. Here get tanned indigenous Parisians who do not have time or have not been able to leave on the beaches and relax tired tourists

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
