Paris Military School is a vast complex of buildings housing various military training facilities founded by Louis XV in 1750 to create an academic college for cadet officers from poor families. Not only can you appreciate the historical significance of this site, which produced countless great military leaders, but the statuesque, sprawling architecture is quite impressive as well.

As you explore this site, keep in mind that Napolean Bonaparte walked the same hallways, as he was accepted in 1784 and completed the two-year program in one year. Add Paris Military School to your Paris travel itinerary, and discover new vacation ideas by using our Paris holiday planner.

  • Because this is a military school, explore the pretty beautiful main building only superficially. Military school ends at the field of Mars, beginning from the Eiffel Tower. All this space looks wonderful with height, has a clear geometric shape. The school was founded in the late 18th century, its main idea was to give military training to nationals IRA poor noble families. Suffice it to say that the future emperor Napoleon spent one academic year (instead of two), but during this period quite finished military education.

  • We walked from the tower down the park to the Ecole Militaire. It is an amazing building and you should walk to the back of it to see the whole building. The back is more impressive than the front. Not a big miss if you don't see it, but once your at the Eiffell tower you might as well take the 15 minute walk.
  • The Ecole Militaire is one of the national landmarks. It is a beautiful building and just walking around it, taking photos, is a majestic experience.
  • One of my favorites in Paris. Impressive architecture. History, art, culture, and symbol...
