Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.

  • Nice exhibits, animals well taken care of, plenty of space for children and restaurants for the family. A bit long for the elder to follow the entire course. Make sure you plan your schedule to attend one of the feedings -- the lions have a feast in front of you. The tropical area gets a bit too crowded during winter, but I guess that's because of the cold outside. It has a couple of marine animals: crocodiles, sea lions, penguins and manatees. If you manage to spot the sloth, let me know. It's supposed to be there somewhere... After the zoo, you can cross the street and ride ponies or rent a boat and row.
  • Nice zoo in paris, doable in about 4 hrs or so. Along with viewing varied reptiles/birds/beasts, they have an amazing setting where you get the feel of certain climatic conditions (like tropical forests) I found that quite interesting!
  • It's a great day out. It was our second visit and this time they had some extra activities for the kids. Rhino day was fun too. The kids got to visit the interior of the zoo where the rhinos sleep. The running games were well organised and is what the children preferred. As a photographer I got to practice my portraiture on birds and monkeys as well as my children.
  • So nice but expansive. Don't try to go with the family ! so one star...
  • If you don't want to see historic buildings and have a day to spare, you should try it out.
