Parc Monceau, Paris

#10 of 76 in Parks in Paris
Painted by Monet numerous times, Parc Monceau is an elegant green space in the middle of cosmopolitan Paris. Check out the statues, entrance rotunda, and the surrounding mansions. Thanks to city planner Haussmann, this precious slice of parkland was reserved for the enjoyment and leisure of the people of Paris. The park's plan is unusual in France, due to its casual, English-style layout. This contrasts with other Parisian parks, such as the formal Luxembourg Gardens and Tuileries. Scaled-down architectural replicas are scattered through the park, including an Egyptian pyramid, a Dutch windmill, and a Chinese fort. • Paris ride, we were trying to capture a few snowflakes fell during the night. Our choice fell on the parc Monceau and it was great. Between its Rotunda, its small bridge or its Naumachie we had more than the choice for beautiful photos. Unreal and relaxing moment next to the Parisian bustle.

  • I was traveling with my 2 year old & he was not impressed with the Parisian parks, at all. I was getting desperate, & was told about this park. Lovely park, rather magical. Lots of grass, sculptures, ...  more »
  • Tucked away in Paris' quiet, exclusive 17th arrondisement this park features packed earth running tracks, carefully tended landscaping and sculptures (such of as the one of Chopin at the piano) worth ...  more »
  • Such a wonderful park. A great place to relax and enjoy the weather. Good for healthy walk and jog. It’s just out of this world. Love it.
  • Park Monceau (the “Parc de Monceau”) keeps its magical mystery throughout the seasons, in every weather or time of the day. Closed from 8pm to 7am in winter. Safe.
  • Beautiful place to wander, admire and deeply breath on a lovely spring day. Love this place.
  • It's a very nice, welcoming parc, but be aware that you can not let your dog run free here, which is a shame. They are also not allowed on any of the grass.
  • The park is enormous with a carousel and a swing for the children to have fun whenever they'll visit this park. Also a mini park for the infants to enjoy and a very wide field to sit and lay down to whenever they feel like doing it. And of course benches everywhere to sit on. Best for jogging and I almost forgot about the rink for the scooters, roller skates and roller blades.
