Parc Monceau, Paris
(4.4/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
Painted by Monet numerous times, Parc Monceau is an elegant green space in the middle of cosmopolitan Paris. Check out the statues, entrance rotunda, and the surrounding mansions. Thanks to city planner Haussmann, this precious slice of parkland was reserved for the enjoyment and leisure of the people of Paris. The park's plan is unusual in France, due to its casual, English-style layout. This contrasts with other Parisian parks, such as the formal Luxembourg Gardens and Tuileries. Scaled-down architectural replicas are scattered through the park, including an Egyptian pyramid, a Dutch windmill, and a Chinese fort. • At the very center of Paris intra muros, there is finally a few fairly large parks: the Tuileries Garden (between Concorde and the Louvre), the field of Mars (at the foot of the Eiffel Tower), the Jardin des Plantes (towards Austerlitz), and the gardens of the Luxembourg (Senate). The Parc Monceau, a pure creation of the 19th century at the time when building the Plaine Monceau, so holds this romantic look with several curved walkways. However it does communicate the boulevard Malesherbes with the Avenue Hoche in straight lines in one direction, and the 8th and the 17th in the other sense perpendicular. Nothing overwhelming but charming. And above all we must look at the monumental and lavish grids that report access. Add that mansions and buildings bordering the park directly are part of the most expensive residential areas of the capital.

  • Love this park! Relaxing and refreshed. If you are kind of naturelover, should visit there.
  • This is one of the most beautiful parks in Paris, over to the west of the centre and in the nouveau boulevard areas close to the Arc de Triomphe area. It gives you a different aspect of the city.

  • I absolutely love this park. First of all it's beautiful, the location is great, there's an antique carousel which kids love and an ice cream place right next to it. The open field invites for a picnic, or read your book on a brush under one of the ancient trees. Dreamful, this wonderful park smack in the middle of Paris is worth your time.
  • Greatest park in the north west Paris. Large enough to break from the city noise and have some fresh air. Their is a nice path following the fences were people are running every evening (may be dusty in the summer). Large central alley were kids can practice scooter or skateboard. There is some lawn for having a snack and banches in every corner of the park. Enjoy
  • Huge park with kids area. Great place to have a jog in the morning. Beautiful place with lots of bench to sit around for brunch and chilling. Totally love this place for its zen-ness and nature.
  • Good place to go for a leisurely walk or a run around the 1km loop. The lawns are great to collapse and /or picnic / read / whatever. Best time is weekday in the morning, not so crowded and the children are less obnoxious.
  • Lovely little park in the heart of Paris! Lots of crisscrossing running trails that make each time around the park a slightly different adventure.
