Parc Monceau, Paris

Categories: Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web
Painted by Monet numerous times, Parc Monceau is an elegant green space in the middle of cosmopolitan Paris. Check out the statues, entrance rotunda, and the surrounding mansions. Thanks to city planner Haussmann, this precious slice of parkland was reserved for the enjoyment and leisure of the people of Paris. The park's plan is unusual in France, due to its casual, English-style layout. This contrasts with other Parisian parks, such as the formal Luxembourg Gardens and Tuileries. Scaled-down architectural replicas are scattered through the park, including an Egyptian pyramid, a Dutch windmill, and a Chinese fort. • Very pretty park with a few activities for children. Comfortable to move around, not too many people, but with sufficient life. A good break, when one has been on the Champs-élysées.

  • What a nice place. You find yourself in an oasis of peace, tranquillity and nature. Pond with fishes and grey herons. Beds not from flowers and vegetable plants. Any tale in the middle of Paris

  • Refuge of wealthy people; not of very wealthy people. Come as a spectator? See what? Shameless display of wealth?

  • Great place to run in Northwest of Paris. Also some parts of the park can be calm and peaceful to spend a few hours. The full circuit inside the park measures almost 1km so easy to track while running.
  • This is a great place to go run if you are staying in Paris and you do not have much time, it's big but not huge. Many people who work in the area go here for a run at lunch time. Besides in spring and summer you can lay down on the grass. Have picnics it is not a problem. Also you will fin beautiful trees and plants and flowers. It is normal to see moms and also babysitters with babies in the park. Even if it is next to a big avenue, once inside you are away. Give it a try!
  • A gem in the middle of Paris with great views of the incredibly upscale and ostentatious "hotel particulier" built by the rich and famous from the end of the XIXth century in what was then the up and coming new trendy posh outskirt neighbourhood.
  • One of the beautiful parks of Paris. It has this old roman columns and it's well shaped. Many couples goes to this park to take wedding pictures. It has a specific nature decoration.
  • A small Parisian park, located in the north-west of the city. This park is relatively small, but is very beautiful and is fun to hang out in, both in sunny and snowy days (less so in the rain). Highly recommended.
