  • They have apparently already been long giving maintenance to the Esplanade. When there are no fences is a great place to take pictures with the Tower in the background. A good piece of bread and cheese sitting on the grass is a unique experience in Paris

  • Other than a good location for a photo of the tower it has changed. Parts of this park have been blocked off with fencing I would imagine because of the terrorism threat. The park is not maintained li...  more »
  • This is a nice park and has the best views of the Eiffel Tower, but oh man it's a mess. Lots of beer caps and trash....and definitely not a good picnic spot with tons of people walking next to you all...  more »

  • Large open area where you can get away from the traffic with a stunning view of the Eiffel tower. We had heard to beware of pan handlers and pick pockets, but had absolutely no experience with anyone approaching us. Many people were just sitting relaxing on the grass seemingly enjoying a pleasant sunny day or taking pictures. The atmosphere was mellow and the view of the tower restful, even with the traffic flowing in the distance.
  • It's a great area to be active. This is where my child was able to run and let out some energy. There is also a child's play area. It's a beautiful green area where people relax and enjoy the greenery and the views around them. It's lovely.
  • A garden with a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower. Sit and watch till the lights are illuminated on the tower. Place to relax, children can run around. Have wine or beer. Take your pictures with the tower.
  • Classic! So much more beautiful in person than in photos! I never would've guessed how delicately detailed it looks up close and how wonderful the grounds around it look and smell. I'll never forget it, that's for sure!
  • Situated next to the Eiffel Tower it is as majestic and as beautiful as ever. You get to see and visit both attractions. Pity that it is gated due to to the heavy tourist visiting the Iconic monuments and looks to be a high risk area with all the military around. But non the less it is a good choice to visit as it can encompass a number of attraction and features situated around the Eiffel Tower. Must visit.

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
