Parc de Bagatelle, Paris

Categories: Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web
Situated at the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, Parc de Bagatelle is one of Paris’s four botanical gardens. Created in 1775, the park and its chateau were built in 64 days after a wager between Queen Marie-Antoinette and her brother in-law, the Count of Artois. This site is the perfect place for you to stroll and relax amongst the stressful days of sightseeing. As well as large trees and varied plant life, little bridges, rocks, caves, bodies of water, and artificial waterfalls add to the charm and romantic aspect of the park.

In addition, the 19th century Chinese pagoda is just one of the park’s many curiosities to explore, and you can also admire the magnificent rose garden with 10,000 rose bushes from 1,200 different species. The park regularly hosts exhibitions and events as well as classical music concerts in the summer. Parc de Bagatelle is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Paris Edition.

  • The amazing thing-Park in the forest (Boulogne)! Of course, in French, with the carefree walks. Peacocks again. But go here specifically for tourists is meaningless. What "this" is not here.

  • At hipodrum, near the famous Longchamp race a real feast of flowers, flowers are all beautiful, but it's a far cry from variety and presentation aspect of roses

  • Gorgeously manicured park replete with a bunch of roaming peacocks and lovely water features.
  • Beautiful in the spring with the flowers.
  • A fairytale-like park, great atmosphere, wonderful plants and a few nice surprises.
  • One of the sickest places in paris
  • Very nice Park, relaxing, clean, green... more a lookout and a children's playground area. Peacocks and cats roam among us. We even had the chance to see babies. 😊
