Parc Andre-Citroen, Paris

3.9
#25 of 75 in Parks in Paris
Parc Andre-Citroen is a blooming public park located on the left bank of the river Seine. If you’re looking to get away from the bustle of the city, try this verdant haven, embellished with two greenhouse pavilions that host exotic plants and Mediterranean vegetation, and are separated by running fountains.

As you venture to the southern part of the park, you’ll find a monumental canal, the "Jardin des Métamorphoses", composed of an elevated reflecting pool. Head to the northern side for the six "Serial Gardens", each with a distinct landscape and architectural design, and a "Garden in Movement" that presents wild grasses selected to respond at different rates to wind velocity. • The best aspect of this park is the series of water features, not exactly fountains, but various water dimensions. Otherwise a big open space in a crowded part of town. Large area.  more »
  • Created in 1992 and extended in 2013, this park is beautiful and offers a beautiful space. Two large greenhouses monumental and transparent are separated by an esplanade of vertical water jets. You will also find pools with of ducks, a large lawn where a beautiful hot air balloon, then right beautiful gardens trees such as the "shadow Garden", the "Green Garden", the "orange Garden", the "red Garden", the "Silver Garden", "garden Golden"... Really a nice place to rest... a nice walk. Come by metro, station "Balard".

  • Very pleasant park that would need to be better known. Beautiful setting with the water canal around and groups of people picnicking or playing other activities. Don't forget your swimsuit during the hot summer days, the water fountains are waiting! Kids surely love them.
  • Lovely quiet place to relax and walk in the landscaped. The ballon is not of hot air. We enjoyed the ride on the ballon. It is a weather ballon, so they have to watch for wind or weather before we can take a ride.
  • Great park. Clean and lots of space on a tuesday at lunch time. Perfect for picnics or reading a book outside. There were available spaces both in the sun and the shadow. There is also a sort of water fountain where you can cool down. Will definately go there again.
  • An intimate and romantic alternative to see Paris from above the Earth. Just 10 minutes West by bike from the Eiffel tower.
  • Good for running, walking and also picnic. My favorite is the sparkling water fountain (I always bring a big empty water bottle)

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
