Palais de Chaillot, Paris

Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
Inspirock Rating:
4.3/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web
For the Exposition Internationale of 1937, the old Palais du Trocadéro (built about 50 years earlier) was demolished and replaced by Palais de Chaillot. Quotations by Paul Valéry decorate the building, alongside sculptural groups on the attic level by Raymond Delamarre, Carlo Sarrabezolles, and Alfred Bottiau. Admire the eight gilded figures sitting on the Rights of Man terrace, attributed to the sculptors Alexandre Descatoire, Marcel Gimond, Jean Paris dit Pryas, Paul Cornet, Lucien Brasseur, Robert Couturier, Paul Niclausse, and Félix-Alexandre Desruelles. This building houses Musée National de la Marine (naval museum), Musée de l'Homme (ethnology), and Musée National des Monuments Français. It's also famous for hosting the United Nations General Assembly that adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948. • This building houses several museums indicated to those who want to delve into detailed engagement (architecture etc. ..). The Palace still frames smartly on Trocadero.

  • Originally it was made as the Paris Expo venues, but is now taking points of the Eiffel Tower. Get off the Metro station Trocadero is now. I used to hang out the multiplication combination wagon was the last now also have bus stop. It looks like the Eiffel Tower too came to Paris, that will be the first location to should not it. Adolf Hitler took a commemorative photo here during the occupation of Paris and the us stop off at when you come to Paris.

  • 夏佑宮嘅風景真係非常之美麗,在下有講入邊所以欣賞到巴黎市中心最美麗嘅風景,再者同時也可以拍到美麗的照片。
  • Wonderful architecture and memorial to all those who fought for freedom in two World Wars. Excellent museums.
  • Very nice views of the Eiffel Tower. Looked liked they were doing some kind of construction work when we went. Not peak though so to be expected I guess. Was lovely to see the Eiffel Tower from here on the hour at night. Just watch yourselves whilst taking pictures as pickpockets do operate. Also there are traders flogging Eiffel Tower keyrings and lights. I'd give them a miss as they can actually be bought cheaper down in the metro station.
  • It's a cool Plaza and fountain but that's all. Loaded with pickpockets and men trying to cheat you with cup tricks (the crowd is rigged) and trying to sell you crappie trinkets. Get thru fast and go to the tower. This area is an obstacle course.
  • best location to see eiffel tower.very good view.ignore some street seller people and carefull from pickpockets.
  • The perfect place to be at 22.00 when the Eiffel Tower light up! Hint: climb up on the low roof on the side by the waterthiny,,, (better private view)
