Palais de Chaillot, Paris

(4.4/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
For the Exposition Internationale of 1937, the old Palais du Trocadéro (built about 50 years earlier) was demolished and replaced by Palais de Chaillot. Quotations by Paul Valéry decorate the building, alongside sculptural groups on the attic level by Raymond Delamarre, Carlo Sarrabezolles, and Alfred Bottiau. Admire the eight gilded figures sitting on the Rights of Man terrace, attributed to the sculptors Alexandre Descatoire, Marcel Gimond, Jean Paris dit Pryas, Paul Cornet, Lucien Brasseur, Robert Couturier, Paul Niclausse, and Félix-Alexandre Desruelles. This building houses Musée National de la Marine (naval museum), Musée de l'Homme (ethnology), and Musée National des Monuments Français. It's also famous for hosting the United Nations General Assembly that adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948. • If only would not now really many and annoying souvenir sellers on this otherwise beautiful place, it would be perfect. It is defintely the best vantage point on the Eiffel Tower, there is a wonderful panorama. Certainly from my point of view, among a must-see in Paris.

  • Here is where you need to get the Eiffel Tower because if your photos from this angle is pretty good coming out. Lot of tourists all the time because everybody comes to the Eiffel Tower, taking a photo with visit by train, metro station Trocadero if walking down to the bottom like a public park.

  • excellent place to take photo of Eiffel Tower as backdrop. Try not to come around noon time, during Oct the sun was from the tower direction so you wont be able to take good picture. Evening time is great for photo taking
  • If you dont want to visit the museum, still a fantastic place to admire the beauty of Eiffel Tower. A great place to take stunning pictures.
  • One more very romantic place in Paris, specially if you go there at night when the Eiffel tower shows up its lights. Even more special moment is when this last one start to blink. It's the prefect spot to admire the Eiffel tower, however this means to share the place with a lot of tourist. But never mind, you must probably will be one yourself ;)
  • Great Memories after 2 years of visit. Still wanting to go back to France as it's my favourite country of all! French people are a little bit underestimating tho... remembered our tour group was followed by 2 suspicious french women. Overall You MUST visit this place as a tourist!
  • On the way to the Eifel tower this is a great piece of architecture you pass through. There's some cool motifs and statues here, and the park is nice
