  • Initially we wanted to visit the Musée d'Orsay but hate queues so were happy to discover this delightful museum. The fact that its free was a pleasant surprise too. We happily spent an hour here. It's...  more »
  • In the face of the Museum of Orsay Museum of the Legion of honor is full of paintings, costumes, swords, various decorations that are worth visiting and which again is a free tour. Many rooms decorated shop windows and paintings of great qualities.

  • It is a Museum of the famous Legion of honor in the West of the Musée d'Orsay. Attracted to a gem gorgeous poster written by (admission is free) though I didn't expect it, like. Paris I went to look for antique jewelry. Where not expected was a feast for the eyes. Diamond is really beautiful Medal was created, of course, using the more expensive stones such as rubies and emeralds. Those who like antique jewelry must go and try, if you went to the Musée d'Orsay.

  • This is best of best. It's hard to understand why people would give less than 5 stars. Besides, if you have engineering or architecture background, just come for this. A marvelous job of reconversion of an old ugly train station in such a beautiful building.
  • The gardens are open only two days in september

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
