  • In this museum, there are more than 2500 fossils of which 650 are complete skeletons and 1000 are parts of skeletons preserved in fluid. Not all are in glass cases, which makes viewing (and photograph...  more »
  • We visited three sites of the mnhn: Gallery of children, the large Gallery, and Paleontology. Prices are more than correct (partially free for children, reduction on the second site in justifying a first ticket full fare) and the place is just beautiful. We stayed for the day and it was not too many. The Gallery of children is exciting for children as for adults. It's interactive, media are varied, a host is always present and very welcoming. Children readers can access one I Enigma that guide the visit. In short, a great time, we stayed there over an hour and a half without seeing time pass. The great Gallery is just beautiful. The amount of information is substantial, all floors are exceptional. We have to shorten visit to have time to go to Paleontology. And so paleontology, here again, superb. We are warned by arriving on the scene it's hot, and it's true. The exhibition is beautiful but the aging building. An exceptional day, not to mention the garden itself, very well maintained and educational plants. A remake for other sites and even revise ones we've seen.

  • While the content of the exhibition is quite interesting and the photographies are without a doubt extraordinary, the 12-euro admission price is definitely not worth it. All the photographies could pr...  more »

  • It's a crime that the several museums around this garden have no combined ticket. To see all of them, you need to shell out OVER €30!!! paying separately at each. The greenhouse and mineral display are small and underwhelming, and ENGLISH translations are LACKING throughout. The only one worth the price of admission is the paleontology/anatomy gallery. Just go there; it's amazing.
  • Most of the information aren't in English. It is annoying when you saw the nice stuffed animal but couldn't learn anything about them. The museum has a lot of foreign visitors so I found it surprising that the descriptions weren't in bilingual like other museums in Paris I visited.
  • This museum is located in one of the most beautiful parks of Paris. I'd recommend to bring your kids and spend a whole day. They will love the huge dinosaur skeletons.
  • The space was amazing, as were the exhibits. The staff was engaging, even with young children. We had a great time and definitely recommend it for other families.
  • The interior of the building itself is impressive with lighting and sound effects. Love how they display the safari animals in the atrium.

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
