  • Admission is 6 euros. You will find the entered the famous painter. I recommend this museum to the painting lovers and fanatics of apartment of the 18th and 19th century. Indeed, this museum has frozen in time the home of the artist when he died. We find the decoration of this period with different objects. You can discover a magnificent staircase that is worth a visit.

  • At the heart of the peaceful 9th district, one first enters the parts where the painter and his family lived. We discover the works and objects that they loved. The two highest levels lead to the artist workshops. A lot of emotion in front of these monumental, sometimes unfinished, works that reveal the man behind the artist: his anger at the injustices of the time, his philosophical revolt. Exciting!

  • I always make it a point to visit the small, out-of-the-way museums of Paris, and although Gustave Moreau is not one of my favorite artists, I found his home, and the museum it has become, very attrac...  more »

  • One of my favorite little museums in the world. I happen to like Moreau very much, but the museum is also a snapshot of a Parisian apartment of a certain time, and I find the studios on the top floors to be inspiring. They are flooded with art and light and for whatever reason being in this space makes me want to do something creative, too.
  • A small museum. If you like Moreau you will love it, if not it is still interesting to see the inside of the building.
  • Gustave Moreau is not for everyone, but if you even just like him, you should visit this museum. It's also interesting because it's the actually atelier where he worked, so you get a real sense of 19th century artistic life - but not la vie bohème. Start at the top of the museum where the most interesting work is and which is also the most interesting space. Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to see the museum; the guards and other employees are absolute dragons and kicked us out 15 minutes before the stated closing time.
  • Gustav Moreau is one of my favorite artists. When I went there I was able to leaf through the amazing volumes of hand drawn art as well as the building itself , a monument of beauty. It took a few days to see everything and the enormous painting that is being shown. I wish to someday return to this museum. it is truly my favorite.
  • A spectacular staircase, impressive studio space, personal effects make it worth a detour. The walls are covered with mostly unfinished paintings.
