Musée en Herbe, Paris

3.3
#69 of 148 in Museums in Paris
A little brother for the original Musée en Herbe in the Bois de Boulogne, this museum is also geared for children. They have games and hands-on exhibits so you won't have to supervise quite as closely as in other museums. Arts workshops are available as well, but you'll need to reserve a space in advance. Observation, imagination and identification games permit kids to discover the works of art and objects shown, at their own pace. The exhibits are all hands-on so kids can have a free reign in the museum, and if that's not enough there are workshops as well. • It's a small museum... ok but I remembered having loved the expo on the cat where many works were exposed... there, it seemed that the space was smaller was--this because of less exposure works? Maybe... Was - this because of what I thought to find? Maybe... Is it because I didn't get the guided tour? Maybe... In short, this museum is good because human-sized but according to the proposed expo and scenography can be more or less interesting... about this expo invaders: you will spend more time and fun to explore the city to photograph the invaders scattered here and there or if you're a young child, in which case, the guided visits, the booklet of course + workshops + the opportunity to play some old games will fill a rainy day.

  • The guided tour is extra for children of all ages, to advise especially in wet weather, right next to the Louvre, easy to access, to try and maybe try again then

  • We were disappointed of this exhibition, which boils down to 3 small rooms, qqs explanations and qqs works. Adults still on its end on the pretext that it is a show for children, no explanation. This Disappointment also keeps the price: €6 / person; too much! It borders on the ridiculous. The staff is not professional and also charged us full price of tickets for a 4 year old girl. The exhibited works are however nice and give an overview of the world of the artist. A pity that it does not go through with the promise: bad score for quantity and price.

  • Suite pricy as parents and children pay. And it's juste a 3 room museum.
  • Nice place to go, but I had expected more to see and do. Quite pricey for a family of four ; €24.
  • Nice exhibition but the place is a bit small and not great value considering we saw everything in 5-10 minutes.
  • Space Invader - "Hello my game" is was so cool
  • Great for kids... and grown ups !

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
