Montparnasse Tower, Paris

(4.2/5 based on 3,600+ reviews on the web)
Paris' only skyscraper, Montparnasse Tower rises 210 m (689 ft) into the sky. While the majority of the tower contains offices, it’s also home to a mall where you'll find gift shops and restaurants. Take the elevator to the top floor and walk up the rest of the stairs to the panoramic terrace that contains a permanent exhibition with panels that present Paris and interactive markers, plus a cafe, a gift shop, and floor-to-ceiling windows with 360-degree views of the city. This tower is not as tall as the Eiffel Tower, so you’ll view things that aren’t as easily seen from such great heights. With our custom trip planner, Paris attractions like Montparnasse Tower can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Wonderful view of Eiffle Tower and 360 degrees across a Paris. No queue and a cafe too for recharging batteries  more »
  • Definitely worth a visit and a good alternative to the classic Tour Eiffel. Definitely worth visiting during clear days. You can see all of Paris. The service is fast, convenient elevator takes you within moments all top floor. In summer there is a bar service on the terrace. Definitely care photos with panoramic ... Recommend a visit to the tower where the staff are really friendly!

  • Highly recommend! The best place to get the full view of all of Paris - Eiffel Tower included. It does tend to get quite busy during sunset as everyone goes to get their pictures so be sure to be there early. Also try to stay until the Eiffel Tower lights up, it's truly magical. They claim to have the fastest elevator in Europe as well.
  • Going up the tower is included in the Paris Pass and that was the only reason we went over to visit this place. Overall, yes you get great views of the city but you can get the same view from the Eiffel Tower especially if you are going all the way up to the summit. So, If I didn't have the Paris Pass, I wouldn't have visited the tower. The views are from the 56th floor of the building.
  • This is a must see if you go to Paris. The building is huge and the style is amazing. The entire building is covered in wonderful statues. There are plenty of tourists waiting on the outside and taking pictures. Beware of people that will strike up a brief conversation with you to ask for money. It is free to enter the main part of the building. You have to pay for a tour and to see the bells in the towers. I heard that it is a spectacular view up there but never got a chance because of the long line. Service was happening on the inside so we had to be quiet. The inside is gorgeous also. The walls are lined with displays on the history of the church and statues of religious figures. They also have a small souvenir stand in the church.
  • Do not be put off by the distance between this landmark and all the others Paris has to offer! It affords a detailed and far-reaching panorama of the cityscape. Almost every Parisian sight-to-see can be seen from its viewing gallery. Not for those with a fear of heights! A breathtaking view!
  • Fantastic views from the observation deck across Paris, and all the major landmarks are visible. There's also an open-air section above that you could easily miss as the signs aren't prominent but it's well worth a look, especially at sunset. Decent cafe and gift shop on the same level as the observation deck. A must-see for any Paris visit.
