Medici Fountain, Paris

(4.6/5 based on 110 reviews on the web)
Now a beautiful attraction in Paris, Medici Fountain was originally created in the 17th century at the Luxembourg gardens for Maria de' Medici, Queen of France. You can visit this site and admire the romantic fountain in a peaceful atmosphere. The grotto fountain is adorned with columns and completely covered with reliefs that simulate water seeping from rock walls.

The fountain is also decorated with allegorical statues, which were added much later. The first statue, Venus in the center niche, is now replaced by the mythological figures of the lovers Acis and Galatea in white Carrara marble. The jealous Cyclops statue, Polyphemus, observes the couple from a ledge. Brush up on your mythology before you arrive to really enjoy these artistic stories. • Spectacular fountain with a poem between hands and the source frozen with rays of sunshine among the branches of the bare trees

  • This fountain as well as being a beautiful work is set in a beautiful environment within the gardens of Luxembourg. Despite being hidden, the fountain and the trees that surround it give the traveler a beautiful painting for artistic photography

  • Medici fountain seemed great and bright, especially against the backdrop of the Golden autumn of Paris ... In this fountain, built in the 17th century for Marie de Medici, is undoubtedly a significant slice of Parisian history. It makes sense to allocate their travel time to explore Fontana, if you got to Paris and Luxembourg Gardens.
