Lutetia, Paris
(3.6/5 based on 50+ reviews on the web)
Considered a significant historical location, Lutetia was a town in pre-Roman and Roman Gaul and the ancestor of present-day Paris. Very little is now left of the ancient city, although more is currently being discovered. In a small park on high ground in the Latin Quarter of the Left Bank, tucked behind apartment blocks, you can still see some remains of the 1st century amphitheater, or Arènes de Lutèce. You can also find remains of public baths at the Musée de Cluny and the Early Christian archeological crypt under the Notre Dame forecourt, now Place of Pope John-Paul II.

Explore a little more to find a road dating back 2,000 years, discovered at the site during expansion of the campus on University of Pierre and Marie Curie. During the excavation here, remains of private houses containing Roman baths and heated floors were found. • Nice Brasserie, and very attentive waitress. Good lunch: roasted chicken: €11.70 The greedy: €6.90 reasonable rate for the area. Small glass of Manzana graciously offered to the right customers.

  • This hotel is one of the most famous hotels on the left bank of Paris. It was built in the early 20th century in the art nouveau style and now rises majestically over the surrounding landscape

  • Good place. Great location. Fairly good food too. Friendly staff.
  • Not bad food, but I wasn't informed when I asked for water with "no gas" aka not sparkling that I would be given a 750mL bottle of Evian and charged 6€80 for it. Bad service and I won't be going here again
  • Scargot delicioso!
  • Nice place to be, to drink, to eat, to watch people on the Isle Saint-Louis. Good food. Friendly service (and that means something in Paris).
  • Wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere, congenial staff. We stopped in here on a whim and had a great relaxed meal.
